What’s New for 2026? Quies seasonal coffee and snack truck has expanded its terrace, offering the best ‘view with a brew’ in Padstow’s Seven Bays. Their new, locally-sourced sourdough bacon rolls are the perfect post-surf or pre-coast stomp fuel.

Kick off your shoes where the Atlantic meets the golden arc of one of North Cornwall’s finest surfing beaches. At high tide, hunker in the dunes and witness the extraordinary power of the ocean on the sandbanks and reef. At low tide, follow the crushed-shell shoreline to Booby’s Bay, hunting sea glass along the way.

Constantine Bay is a surfer’s paradise, with a reef break for experts, as well as sandy-bottomed peaks along the beach. Hire boards and wetsuits and hit the waves, kickback and watch from the sand with a barista brew from Quies Coffee, or swap the sand for the green at Trevose Golf Club. 

Insider tip: Head to the southern end of the reef at mid-tide, where you will find deep, natural rock pools that act as giant eco-spas, warmed by the afternoon sun.

A short stroll from the village and its local amenities, Constantine Bay offers something for everyone – from family beach days and surf sessions to scenic coastal walks and peaceful afternoons in the dunes.

RNLI Lifeguards: Patrol the beach daily from May through September – making it a safe beach for swimmers, surfers and bodyboarders. Always swim between the red and yellow flags, and surf between the black and white flags.

Dog-Friendly Constantine Bay: Dog-friendly year-round, so your four-legged friends can enjoy the three-mile run-around at low tide without restriction.

There are a few car parking spots right beside the slipway to the beach – however these fill up early.

During peak times, the best place to park is the Constantine Bay field car park, a short walk from the beach, and £6 per day.

Local’s tip: Park at the National Trust parking at Trevose Head, from where it’s a scenic stroll back down to the bay, with stunning views of Booby’s Bay. Or park at Treyarnon Bay, from where it’s a flat 15-minute walk along the South West Coast Path back to Constantine.

By Bus: The No.56 bus route runs regularly between Newquay and Padstow, stopping beside Constantine Bay Stores, a ten-minute walk from the beach.

If you can tear yourself away from the sand, the South West Coast Path beckons. Head north on a loop toward Trevose Head Lighthouse, where the cliffs offer a dizzying perspective of the coastline, stretching all the way past Mother Ivey’s Bay to the iconic silhouette of Stepper Point.

Chase the birdie at Trevose Golf & Country Club, on a links course that sits just above the bay. With sweeping Atlantic views from almost every hole, it’s one of Cornwall’s standout courses — whether you’re playing a full round or just stopping for a coffee with a view.

Hit the waves at one of North Cornwall’s most consistent surf breaks. Constantine Bay Surf Stores has boards and wetsuits for hire – as well as all the beach gear you’ll need to hit the waves in style. Constantine Bay Surf School runs lessons with experienced local instructors – ideal for first-time wave riders or those looking to hone their skills.

For morning coffee head to Quies – bang on the slipway to the sand. We’d recommend a flat white while you watch the first surfers of the day take on the Atlantic peaks.

For picnic supplies and pastries head to Constantine Bay Stores. More than a shop, this is the heart of the community. Pick up local cheeses, freshly-baked bread, and fine wines for a smorgasbord on the sand.

For a casual lunch walk ten minutes over the headland to the YHA Treyarnon Bay. The terrace overlooks the waves and is the best spot for a burger and a pint of Cornish cider.

Spring: Strike out to Dinas Head and watch seabirds swirl around the Quies rocks. See if you can find the shipwreck on Booby’s Bay on a spring low tide. And if you want to hit the waves, this is the best time for surfing with fewer crowds and more consistent swells.

Summer: Bring blankets, picnics and surfboards for long days on the sand. Expect family cricket matches, lifeguards on the watch, and long, golden evenings.

Autumn: This is our favourite time of year in Constantine Bay – made for barefoot beach walks, wild swims and peaceful moments on the shoreline. The summer crowds have gone, the sea is still warm from the summer sun, and the sunsets are set the sea and sky on fire.

Winter: For wild weather and coastal stomps, winter in Constantine Bay is magic. Storm-watch from the dunes, and wrap up for bracing strolls along sands where you’ll meet just a few hardy surfers and locals.

Beyond the dunes, Constantine Bay makes a strategic location for exploring the rest of the county. You’re perfectly positioned to hop between Padstow and the Seven Bays of North Cornwall, including Treyarnon, Harlyn, Trevone, and Porthcothan.
