Relax in this beautiful countryside village just a few miles from Padstow.
Little Petherick is a small village located in a green valley between Padstow and Wadebridge. With its historic 14th century church and old granite cottages, this is a distinctly Cornish village and a great base for a holiday in North Cornwall.
Just a few miles inland from Padstow, Little Petherick is surrounded by open countryside where paths lead down to Little Petherick Creek, which is an inlet of the Camel Estuary. It’s possible to walk alongside the creek, which connects with the Camel Trail onto Padstow and Wadebridge.
Another famous walking trail – the Saint’s Way – passes by Little Petherick. This trail follows the supposed route of pilgrims from Ireland and Wales who walked across Cornwall from Padstow to Fowey on their way to religious sites in France and Spain.
This tranquil village is perfectly located for exploring all parts of Cornwall. For eating out there’s the nearby Journeyman restaurant, as well as the Pickwick Inn near St Issey. And, of course, the towns of Padstow and Wadebridge with their fantastic restaurants, cafes, pubs, galleries and shops are only a short drive away.
For a special treat, stop for lunch, wine tasting or a tour of the Trevibban Mill Vineyard and Orchard. For family fun, the nearby Camel Creek Adventure Park will make a great day out.
