A Helping Hand
Whether you need to sort the kids out with a sitter, stock up your holiday pantry or even tie the knot this side of the Tamar – we’ve pooled our holiday knowhow to make your stay with us even smoother.
Harbour-side happenings
Throughout the year Padstow plays host to a glut of events and celebrations worth checking out…
- Easter Sunday Egg Roll – Exactly what it says on the tin, families and egg enthusiasts unite for this annual egg roll down Duke Street in aid of the RNLI.
- May Day, Obby Oss – The most traditional of all Cornwall’s May Days, we give you Padstow’s Obby Oss. While its festival origins are lost in time, the traditions – and fun – that accompany them are most certainly alive. With two ‘osses’ dancing in the street, accompanied by the locals singing and dancing to the accordions and drums, you can’t help but feel the beat.
- 7-10 December 2017, Padstow Christmas Festival – From fireworks in the sky to festive feasting on the ground, the first weekend of December sees the town come to life with Christmas cheer. Go gaga for Santa in the town’s grotto, whet your appetite with famous chef demos, take in a spot of late-night shopping in the traditional market and catch a carol or two – the perfect way to get into the festive spirit.

A night off from the kids
Give yourself some peace of mind while taking in the town, without the whole family in tow. Let the friendly faces of Hannah or Lucy from Safe Hands Babysitting take the little ones off your hands for the evening – contact them on 07976 316 053 / 07980 912 372.
Pantry-fillers and holiday hampers
Nothing beats starting your holiday with a hamper chock full of the best Cornish produce on your doorstep. We recommend the fancy foodstuffs of Rick Stein’s hampers, or Cornish Food Market, which works with over 85 local producers from across the Duchy. Use your Harbour Holidays discount card and you’ll be given 10% off.
If you want to stock up your pantry without braving the shops, then look to the famous Chough Bakery for pasties, cream teas and baked-goods deliveries. Trevone Farm Shop is great for your veggies and cheese (and they provide free delivery in the surrounding area), while the Cornish Food Market, has a wide selection of Cornish produce, store cupboard basics and tempting treats. Order before 11pm for next day delivery.
