Harbour Holidays is proud to celebrate 10 years of support for the National Lobster Hatchery.

As a key sponsor, Harbour Holidays supports the work of the charity that helps to ensure healthy stocks of lobster for future generations.

The Padstow-based organisation is a marine conservation, research and education charity that focuses its efforts on the European lobster.

The charity exists primarily to help conserve the vulnerable lobster populations and preserve the coastal marine bio-diversity and fishing heritage of Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.

Using pioneering techniques to improve the survival rate of hatching lobsters, the charity has helped to rear tens of thousands of baby lobsters and release them into the sea.

Since its inception in 2000, The National Lobster Hatchery has established itself as a centre for excellence in lobster science, has published numerous papers and presented its work on the world stage.

The hatchery is also an important tourist attraction for the town, which welcomes over 46,000 visitors through its public education centre each year. The visitor centre provides a wealth of information about these amazing creatures, the hatchery and the importance of a sustainable fishery.
