With the 2022 Easter holidays just around the corner, top Cornish attractions are getting ready for the spring break with plans for a range of eggciting events. Whether it’s an Easter egg hunt, theatrical performance or adventure experience, there are plenty of family-friendly happenings to keep you entertained in Cornwall this Easter.

Easter Egg Hunt, Lanhydrock

Saturday 9th to Monday 18th April

National Trust properties in Cornwall will host their annual Easter egg hunts throughout the holiday period. Our local favourite is Lanhydrock where you get to roam for clues through the beautiful garden, which bloom with magnolias, camellias and rhododendrons at this time of year. At the end of the hunt, all children receive a chocolate egg.

Traditional Egg Rolling, Padstow

Easter Sunday 17th April

If you’re staying in Padstow this Easter, check out the traditional egg rolling on Duke Street on Easter Sunday morning. Children are invited to bring painted eggs for the annual competition, with prizes for best-decorated eggs. It’s a wonderful local event that raises money for the RNLI.

Join the fun and games at Camel Creek Adventure Park this Easter, where children will have the opportunity to meet characters from popular TV programmes. There’s yet another treasure trail, as well as face painting and games at this animal attraction in Newquay this Easter. This is a lovely zoo where children can learn about creatures large and small, from all over the world. St Endellion Easter Music Festival, St Endellion

Enjoy classical music and talks this Easter in the beautiful setting of the 15th century Collegiate Church of St Endelienta. For 2022, the festival welcomes Sir James MacMillan to guide the audience through the anguish and beauty of his Stabat Mater. Over the Easter weekend, there will be two performances of a brand-new Jeremy Sams translation of Bach’s St Matthew Passion.

Cornwall’s china clay mining museum will be welcoming guests with all sorts of creative activities over the Easter holidays. Visitors will be invited to make an Easter ceramic, create fantasy eggs, try basket weaving and bonnet making, and paint bug houses for the spring. It’s the perfect excuse to visit this interesting museum and explore the grounds of the original Victorian clay works, bursting at the seams with tools, machinery, artefacts and stories of Wheal Martyn’s past life at the heart of this global industry.

Easter Adventure Quest at Pendennis Castle, Falmouth

This is an opportunity for families to explore the picturesque coastal Tudor castle to hunt for clues and challenges, and discover traditional Easter games like egg rolling and the egg and spoon race.
