After two years without its famous festive foodie celebrations, Padstow’s harbour is set to twinkle brighter than ever. From 4-7 December 2025, the brand-new Padstow Christmas Fayre marks the grand return of Cornwall’s most magical culinary Christmas event. Now reimagined, community-led, and packed with flavour, cheer and a whole lot of Cornish heart.
A Cornish Christmas Classic
When you think of Christmas traditions in Cornwall, you conjure up the magic of the Mousehole lights, Truro’s lantern parade and Santa swims. But the merriest foodie fiesta of them all has long been Padstow’s yuletide event – where celebrity chefs put on sizzling shows while punters feast on festive fare, sip mulled wine and fill their stockings with artisan goodies.
So we can’t wait for our harbour town to shine once again with this brand-new four-day event brought to life by the masterminds behind the Porthleven and St Ives Food Festivals.
Blending tradition with modern glow, in a true celebration of the season, Padstow Christmas Fayre promises masterclasses from Cornwall’s culinary royalty, an artisan market, live music and carols, family activities, fireworks and a lantern parade – plus lots more.
It’s free to attend, full of festive spirit, and dedicated to celebrating our local food, drink and community – all while raising funds for charities including Hospitality Action, The Fisherman’s Mission, and Padstow Lifeboat.
“The Fayre returning this year feels like coming home. It’s a celebration of everything I love about Cornwall – its producers, its creativity and its sense of community. I can’t wait to share the magic of the season with everyone.” Emily Scott, chef.

On the menu: food, fireworks and festive cheer
In the main tent you’ll find a giddy line-up of big Cornish names – Rick Stein, Paul Ainsworth, Emily Scott, Jude Kereama – cooking up festive inspiration across 50 live demos and talks. Expect inspiration for your Christmas menu, stories from the kitchen, and the kind of culinary theatre Padstow does best.
Want a more hands-on experience? Book a spot at one of the food and drink masterclasses. From gin-making and wine tasting to festive cookery workshops, these are practical, personal and packed with insider tips to take home and create your best Christmas feast yet.
Between tastings and tutored workshops, browse the artisan market for handmade gifts, Cornish produce, and festive treats. Think hand-poured candles, cosy knits, local artwork, chocolate truffles and festive fare. Soak up the sights, sounds and scents while blitzing your festive shopping — from stocking fillers and crafts to all the ingredients for your yuletide feast.
“For me, the Padstow Christmas Fayre signals the start of the festive season. It brings so many friends, old and new, together for a few days of food, drink and music around the harbour and in the restaurants. With lots of energy and fun for the run-up to Christmas!” Rick Stein.

Lights, lanterns and live music
Friday evening brings one of the weekend’s most magical moments — the Padstow Lantern Parade. As dusk falls, the harbour fills with the glow of handmade lanterns crafted by local schools — a procession of twinkling stars and glowing angels winding around the harbour, soundtracked by the Padstow Merrymakers.
As the clock strikes eight, look to the sky for a spectacular fireworks display. Thanks to the Padstow Harbour Commissioners, a dazzling light show reflects across the sea in bursts of Christmas colour.
Linger all weekend for live music, carols around the Christmas tree, and seasonal entertainment in cosy pubs. Local artists including Ashley Harding, Daisy Clarke and Nick Mears bring live sets to Ruby’s and venues around town, keeping the festive rhythm flowing long into the evening.

Padstow at Christmas
The magic doesn’t stop at Padstow Christmas Fayre. All across town, restaurants, pubs and shops join in with special festive menus, late-night shopping, and plenty of seasonal sparkle in every corner.
Grab a hot chocolate (or something stronger) and stroll the harbour, where fairy lights dance on the water and fishing boats glow beneath a towering Christmas tree. Pop into a cosy pub for a singalong, sample a festive pasty from the bakery, or treat yourself to a long lunch at one of the town’s famous foodie spots.
