New Openings in Padstow this Season
PL28 Café, Broad Street
Gone is Broad Street Burgers, and in its place the most talked-about opening of the season is taking over prime position on Broad Street. Chef Thomas Hine (who has worked at Lympstone Manor in Devon and Penmaenuchaf in Snowdonia), is returning to his hometown of Padstow to open PL28 Café. A café by day serving breakfast, brunch and Cornish coffee, transforming into an intimate chef’s table supper club by night. Opening 27 March, this one has genuine local heart behind it, as Hine is joined by his cousin Will Derry front of house and his brother Fred in the kitchen. One to book early.

The Stable, Harbour Front
The West Country’s well-known pizza and craft cider house opened on Padstow’s harbourside last year and quickly settled in as a town hotspot. Not only was it the first of The Stable’s locations to offer an exclusive new menu with larger, thinner, crispier pizza bases, alongside smashed burgers and classic fish and chips, it also serves a feast-worthy breakfast menu unique to Padstow. Open daily from 9am to 10pm, it’s an easy choice for everything a ‘whole hog brekkie’ with harbour views, to a post-beach pizza. Weekends can be busy, so book ahead or opt for takeout on the quay.

The London Inn, Lanadwell Street
One of Padstow’s oldest pubs — open since 1803 — has had a new lease of life. The London Inn underwent a full refurbishment in early 2025, with a brand new bar and snug, and a new menu built around locally sourced ingredients. Yet with a facelift and under new management, it remains what it always was: a proper Cornish pub tucked just back from the harbour, with real ales, a rooftop sun trap, live music nights and muddy boots firmly welcome.

The Jetty, Harbour Hotel
Not brand new, but worth seeking out, The Jetty opened in late 2024 as Padstow’s most stylish waterside dining addition. Think sweeping views over the Camel Estuary, all-day coastal dining, and a relaxed atmosphere that works equally well for a long lunch or sundowner drinks. Try for a window seat at low tide.
