Wellness Weekends for Couples in Cornwall

Looking for a feel-good romance by the sea? Put a saltwater twist on Valentines and time away for two, with a wellness weekend in Cornwall. After all, time together isn’t just about candlelit dinners and swoon-worthy scenery – it’s about doing things together that bring a glow to your cheeks and your hearts. Things like paddling out side by side, warming up in a water’s edge sauna, and watching the sunset hand-in-hand.

Go Surfing Together

There’s something about learning a new sport together that strips everything back to basics – and surfing will have you laughing, wiping out and cheering each other on. North Cornwall is one of the UK’s best places to learn to surf and whether you’re beginners or aficionados, there are plenty of surf schools close to Padstow where you can step up your game and hire kit for all abilities and weathers. While the water’s colder in winter, the waves are more powerful and the lineups are quieter – making it the ideal time to hit the waves with nearby Harlyn Surf School or Kingsurf in Mawgan Porth.

Hand-in-Hand Beach Adventures

For a romantic day out, it’s hard to beat a beach walk in North Cornwall — and this one feels like a proper heart-warming adventure under big skies. Ferry-hop across the estuary to Rock at low tide, then follow the pillowy sands to Daymer Bay – such a vast open stretch that you’ll often feel like you’ve got the place to yourselves. Grab a coffee at Daymer, then join the coast path towards Polzeath, dipping down to hidden Greenaway Bay for rock pooling and a sea dip, before lunch and a well-earned pint at The Atlantic in Polzeath.

Sea Dip and Sauna at Harlyn

Few things reset body and mind like the fusion of hot and cold therapies. So strip down to your swimmers and yo-yo between the sauna and the sea at Harlyn Bay. The wood-fired Sauna by the Sea boasts views straight out over the Atlantic, so you can sweat it out while enjoying the scenery together, dash into the sea, breathe deep, warm up, and repeat. Trust us, you’ll feel loose, calm and quietly glowing.

Clifftop Spa and Massage at St Moritz

If your idea of wellness leans a little more indulgent, the Cowshed Spa at the nearby St Moritz Hotel delivers serious rest and relaxation with a coastal edge. Sea views, expert therapists and plenty of space to unwind, make it the ideal spot for a couple’s spa day wrapped in the wild energy of the coast. We love the Cowshed Indulge package, which includes two hours in the Wellness Space, a 60-minute Cowshed Treatment for each of you, and lunch or cream tea in the Shorecrest Restaurant.

Sunset Stroll at Constantine Bay

Back to those romantic beach walks with a twist – this time for nature’s light show at dusk. Winter sunsets are early and fierce, turning the greyest skies into spectacular shades of orange and pink – and there’s nowhere we love to experience it more than Constantine Bay. Set out in daylight, kick off your shoes to feel sugary sands underfoot while you search for sea glass and beach treasures, until the mesmerising skies blaze overhead and send you scurrying back to your cosy seaside cottage.

Cycle the Camel Trail and Woodland

For gentle movement and easy conversation, cycling is effortless fun for couples that love the outdoors. Strike out from Padstow along the 18-mile Camel Trail that traces the estuary and woodland all the way to Bodmin Moor – with plenty of places to stop and linger for waterside picnics and pub stops. Or, if you want to up the ante, nearby Cardinham Woods and Lanhydrock offer sheltered forest trails made for mountain biking followed to tea and cake in cosy woodland cafés. After all, cycling together is as much about the pauses as the pedalling.

Get Creative Together with Art at the Beach

Wellness isn’t just physical. Doing something creative together can be surprisingly connective — especially when it’s low-pressure and led by the landscape. Art at the Beach at Mawgan Porth offers relaxed, inclusive art sessions suitable for all abilities. Whether you’re sketching, painting or simply playing with colour and texture, you’ll come away with a handmade reminder of time well spent together.
