Built by the Prideaux Brune Estate in the 1860s, this two-up, two-down traditional cottage is thought to have been the first building on the high street. A home. A school. A library. 28 Althea Cottage has been many things to many people. So what will it be to you? The spot where you proposed next to the ancient well, or your first holiday with the kids? Ground Floor
A twin bedroom, a family bathroom with a bath, separate shower, washbasin and WC, a large open-plan kitchen diner with a range style gas cooker, a standard size under counter fridge and separate freezer and a sofa in the dining area. There is also a utility room with a wet room and shower.
Bedroom 1: A twin room (3 ft beds)
First Floor
A double bedroom, a lounge with TV and DVD player and a mezzanine off the lounge overlooking the kitchen.
Bedroom 2: A double bedroom (4ft 6″ bed) – feather duvet.
Outside
A patio garden with a bench.
Care to be taken with young children as the steps are quite steep and there is access to the sloping roof of the utility room.
Parking
The property does not have any parking, at an additional cost a pass can be obtained from one of the Council Car Parks, please find the link here.
Linen & Towels
All linen and towels are provided (synthetic pillows and duvets in the bedrooms.)
Linen is changed weekly on fortnightly stays or longer.
Please bring your own beach towels.
Arrival & Departure
Access is via a keysafe and details will be sent to you before your arrival.
Arrival Time: From 16:00pm
Departure Time: By 10:00am
Babies & Children
There is a cot and a highchair in the property, linen is not provided for the cot.

There is central heating throughout and underfloor heating.

Accessibility
ACCESS: Access is gained from the main street there is one step up and over the doorway into the hallway.
GROUND FLOOR: Inside the house there is the family bathroom on the left with bath, separate shower, washbasin and WC and a twin bedroom on the left. If you continue along the hallway, there are 2 steps up to the large open plan kitchen/dining area with one step up from the dining to the kitchen area and a utility room through which you access a wet room with shower.
FIRST FLOOR: From the kitchen area, there are 9 steps up to the mezzanine with a seat overlooking the kitchen and from here you can then access the lounge. From the ground floor there are 10 stairs up to the small landing with the double bedroom to the left with 1 additional step into it and the lounge to the right with an additional step into it.
Please take care on the stairs as they are quite steep.
OUTSIDE ACCESS: From the kitchen there is also access to the back patio with 9 slate steps leading up to a seating area with a bench. Please take care with children as there is a sloped roof to the side of the steps.
